We’re Glad You’re Here

We are a small community of believers committed to exploring God’s purpose for our lives and celebrating God’s work in our world. We welcome all to worship and to the communion feast of Jesus Christ, no matter their faith tradition, social or economic circumstance, gender, race or sexual orientation.  Jesus’ instruction to “love one another” (John 15:17) leads us to explore questions of faith, learn how the Bible is relevant to our modern lives and practice compassion for all we meet.

We are a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation, which you can read more about here: PCUSA Mission Agency

and also a member of the Presbytery of East Tennessee: Presbytery of East Tennessee

  • Morgan-Scott Project

  • Family Promise of Knoxville

Rev. Brynne Crowe

Rev. Brynne Crowe came to West Emory in the spring of 2019.  She is a native of East Tennessee, having grown up in Chattanooga. Brynne is a “second-career” pastor; after 16 years as a staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., she realized she had become far more invested in her church activities than in her “dream job”. She responded to God’s call to ministry by leaving the old life behind and starting anew at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas.

Brynne has served churches in Illinois and Pennsylvania, not forgetting the many tiny, rural Texas churches in which she preached during her seminary years. The life and ministry of the “small” church connects people and communities in life-giving ways that bring her hope and joy. And after living in several different parts of the country, she is very happy to be home again in East Tennessee.
